Accessibility
Updated October 5, 2026
We want every parent, guardian and teacher to be able to use School Bus Worksheets. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we have done
- Images. Every image that carries meaning has a text description. Images that are only decoration are hidden from screen readers.
- Math pictures. Each picture in a question has a description, such as "a group of 3 and a group of 2".
- Keyboard. Every button, link and form works with a keyboard. The focus outline is always visible. A "Skip to the content" link is the first stop on each page.
- Forms. Every field has a label. Errors are written in words, tied to the field, and read out by screen readers.
- Color and text. Text meets AA contrast. Nothing depends on color alone. Pages work at 200% zoom and on a 320 pixel wide screen without sideways scrolling.
- Motion. The moving names on the home page have a pause button. They stay still if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Touch. Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall.
- No time limits. The quiz never times out. Login codes last 10 minutes and you can ask for a new one.
How we test
We run an automated accessibility scan on every screen before each release, and we test the main paths with a keyboard. Automated scans do not catch everything, so we also fix what people report.
Known limits
- The PDF. The printable PDF is made for paper and is not tagged for screen readers. The same questions are on screen as cards, and those work with screen readers.
- Stripe pages. Payment happens on pages run by Stripe. Stripe publishes its own accessibility information.
